


THE PROBLEM - Children getting lost in amusement parks

The rate of the child’s getting lost remains at a high level in amusement parks. Now, many mechanical products that get lost must be worn by children, which not only affects children’s movements but also fail to achieve effectiveness. In terms of the large amusement park, the processing is very complicated (There is usually only one missing center.), and parents and the child who gets lost under tremendous bear pressure psychologically when the child gets lost, which also reduces the processing time and service quality of the missing center.
USER RESEARCH

The chosen Taipei Children’s Amusement Park has 20000 visitors every day, and interviewed park staffs and parents are divided into 10 groups. Some good information is learnt during the interview. For example, there are regular patrols in the park, and the child who gets lost would cry with panic; parents said that being worried, they would not prepare measures, and they usually depend on the park. After with full understanding, we began our design...

Parents
1. They are worried about the child who gets lost.
2. They would not prepare any products to prevent a child from getting lost.
3. They make sure that the child is within the incident.
Staffs

1. Directly take the child who gets lost to the missing center, ask for parents’ names and phone numbers, and then broadcast.
2. Regular patrols are conducted by staffs regularly in the park.
3. The child who gets lost has obvious characteristics, such as crying and panic.
4. Trust building for the child who gets lost is the most difficult.
5. The frequency of the child who gets lost is very high, especially in holidays.

MMES ANALYSIS
Our products are examined from a perspective of man-machine-environment: Due to the problem of the child getting lost, the amusement park where children get lost the most is chosen, and products are specially designed for the children who get lost. The idea that children are unwilling to wear what they dislike inspires us to design the tattoo sticker we like the most during childhood. The stickers are combined with parent-children tickets provided to the amusement park. It is a good combination of man, environment, and products.

The Bodyguard sticker is a tattoo sticker that helps children who get lost quickly find their parents. The characteristics of tattoo stickers make wearing them more effective and comfortable. The sticker that children like and is printed with a cartoon attracts children positively. The QR code with security lock can avoid the exposure of information, and the excellent functionality and security can protect the children, through which we hope not only to improve the procedures of dealing with the child who gets lost but also to find a suitable wearing way for children.
HOW TO USE
STEP 1.
Scanning Process
Purchase parent-children tickets attached with Bodyguard sticker on-site or through the reservation, which can be worn by children on the day of playing. To find out the child who gets lost, staff in the amusement park can get parents’ information by scanning the QR code on the Bodyguard sticker.

Scanning Mechanism
The usage combined with the staff APP is confidential, and visitors will not be able to access communication information when scanning. Still, they can contact the staff in the park, which can speed up the process of dealing.

STEP 2.
Getting the information, staff can contact the child’s parents directly in the talk mode.

Being painful when the child gets lost, parents bear tremendous pressure in a few minutes. Aside from reducing the processing time, the Bodyguard sticker can express the safety of the child to parents beforehand by the calling mode, which eases the psychological stress of parents due to the unknown.

Improvement
Nowadays, staff assists in taking the child who gets lost to the missing center and then broadcast to wait for the parents. Both parents and the child feel very pain when the child gets lost at the parent-children meeting, and parents may spend more time searching for the missing center. Staff can get parents’ information only by scanning the QR code on the Bodyguard sticker worn by the child who gets lost, and the child who gets lost can talk to his/her parents during the call between staff and parents, which can reduce the fear and uneasiness for both parents and the child. Such a concept reduces the dependency of the processing mechanism on the missing center, which allows staff to quickly deal with the missing cases.



The mechanism of tattoo protection allows all staff to know the case of the children getting lost simultaneously and provide assistance, which makes up for the disadvantages of only one missing center in the amusement park. Extending service can achieve better efficiency and service.
TICKETS DESIGN
The sticker with tattoos and QR codes differs from today’s anti-lost products (such as personal cards and smart bracelets). With the characteristics and wearing features of tattoo stickers, the sticker which children like not only attract children positively but also do not affect their movements. The tattoo stickers can stick for one week, and the QR code has a 30% of fault tolerance rate, which is 30% of the same data. As a result, the information can be scanned if the graphic QR code is not damaged severely.
The combination of a tattoo sticker attached to the QR code and the park mascot and adding the lovely pictures make the QR code natural, which attracts children positively to wear it. The specific parent-children function can be owned once the tickets are purchased as tattoo protection and parent-children tickets are designed together.


It is understood that now the amusement park has its official internal communication software, where the function of finding the child who gets lost can be added to the current app by the park. The search for the child who gets lost can be conducted in two ways: one is the scanning function of the QR code, which can help to obtain parents’ information and do instant calls; the other one is the notices of lost cases can be added. Parents positively ask staff for help, and staffs add the case of the loss in the app. The information of photos, body types, and clothing allows other staff to look for the child who gets lost at the same time so that the child who gets lost can be found faster by parents.
